Project Scope | Visioning & Strategy, Design, Implementation, Execution
The new head office was designed to reflect an organization that is growing in innovative and forward thinking ways. The space represents a significant milestone for the local team as they position themselves as leaders in the emergency services software industry. As you enter into the reception area, clients and employees are welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere. Elements of the Nova Scotian landscape have been intertwined into the design to communicate the local influence of the region. Storage space is concealed behind full height, oak finished doors seamlessly blending functional space into the oak finished surround. The helicopter sculpture was designed to communicate the vision of the organization – to transform the way first responders collect, share, report, and analyze critical information to improve community health and safety.
Step into the client space where hospitality, information sharing, and bright spaces come together to create an inviting first point of contact for visitors, and employees alike. A blend of warm and cool finishes, and the use of colourful elements are chosen to reflect the dynamic and vibrant culture of ESO Halifax.
A gradient carpet tile softly guides us and defines spatial transitions from open areas to enclosed rooms. A perfect opportunity for a casual conversation, individual heads down work or simply to take a moment of pause.
Going from a local team to international presence came with a growing need to virtually connect office locations across North America and Europe in different time zones. Unique department functions meant creating meeting spaces to accommodate a variety of needs and settings. Distributed across the floor plate, rooms are thoughtfully designed to include intuitive technology, writable surfaces visible to in-person and virtual attendants, and audio-visual elements resulting in an equal experience for all.
“A multi-functional space designed to gather with friends and colleagues for lunch, informal meetings, and company wide social events is what we looked to achieve with the design of the work café.
Playful, colourful, and inviting, it acts as a gentle reminder to pause and enjoy the views in the midst of a busy day.”
